About Zenful Balance

Hi, I’m Carmelina.

I’m a certified 200-hour yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, and sound healer. I offer Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, Reiki sessions, community classes, and private wellness experiences.

I teach at CocoMotion and also offer outdoor community yoga at Farm Yoga in Southold.

My work is for people who need a break from constantly pushing through. Whether we work through yoga, Reiki, sound, or a combination of practices, my goal is to help you reconnect with your body in a way that feels supportive and realistic.

My Path

I didn’t arrive here by accident.

I know what it feels like to feel disconnected from your body and unsure what you need. There was a point when my life no longer reflected who I was becoming, and I had to start paying attention.

That meant slowing down and trying things differently. Movement, breath, creativity, nature, Reiki, and yoga became part of that process.

Yoga eventually became more than a personal practice. After completing my 200-hour teacher training, I began sharing yoga with others.

I believe movement does not need to be perfect to matter. You do not need to be flexible, experienced, or able to do advanced poses.

How I Work

I offer private sessions, community classes, and wellness experiences that can include yoga, Reiki, sound, and breathwork.

Private sessions are shaped around your needs and experience. Some days you may need movement. Other days, you may need rest.

There is no pressure to perform or reach a certain outcome. We start with where you are and work from there.

A Few Things About Me

I love slow mornings, although life does not always cooperate.

I dance around my living room more than I practice choreography.

Nature walks help me clear my head and feel grounded.

I also enjoy creating jewelry and art.

I believe routines should support your life, not run it.

An Invitation

You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.

You can come to yoga as a beginner, book a private session, or create a wellness experience for your group.

My work is about giving you practical ways to reconnect with yourself.

We start where you are.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-off) practice that supports your body’s natural ability to relax and reset.

During a session, your nervous system is given the space to slow down. Many people experience a sense of calm, grounding, or relief from mental and emotional tension. Some feel warmth or deep relaxation. Others simply notice they feel more settled afterward.

You don’t need to “do” anything or believe in anything. Your body responds on its own.

How It Supports the Body

Reiki encourages your body to move out of stress mode and into a state of rest and regulation.

Research suggests that practices like Reiki can help activate the relaxation response, which may support:

  • reduced stress and anxiety

  • improved sleep

  • a calmer nervous system

  • a greater sense of balance and well-being

Science doesn’t yet explain every aspect of energy-based practices, but many people notice real, tangible changes in how they feel physically and emotionally after a session.

Do I Need to Believe in It?

No.

You don’t have to understand or believe in energy work for your body to respond. Your nervous system already knows how to settle and rebalance. Reiki simply creates a quiet, supportive environment for that process to happen naturally.

What’s a Session With Me Like?

Every session is different, because every person comes in with different needs.

You’ll lie down fully clothed in a calm, comfortable space. I play soft, relaxing music and work gently with energy using light touch or hands hovering above the body. I may also incorporate sound, oils, or crystals if it feels supportive for that session.

As I work, I pay close attention to where the energy feels heavier or more stuck — often areas where the body holds stress, tension, or emotional weight. The focus is always on helping your body soften, release, and feel more at ease.

Some people feel warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation. Others notice a sense of grounding or emotional release. There’s no “right” experience — your body responds in its own way.

You don’t need to do anything or try to make something happen.
You don’t even need to talk unless you want to.

This work isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about creating a supportive space so your body can settle and reconnect in the way it needs that day.
